GOOD LUCK TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE JUNIOR MATHS CHALLENGE!

Amar, April 25, 2024

The Junior Mathematics Challenge begins today, with Year 7 and Year 8 students competing for gold, silver and bronze certificates across the country.

This challenge, created by The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust is intended to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

The Association, as well as Trefoil Tutors, believes in the importance of problem solving as a means of helping pupils develop their reasoning skills.

Remember that it is not an exam, but a challenge - so stay calm and enjoy the process.

We would like to wish the best of luck to all participants!
