Trefoil Tutors was established in 2011 with a mission to bring a new level of professionalism to tutoring. Providing outstanding teaching and learning and enriching a student’s educational experience are at the forefront of all that we do.
We offer specialist small group tuition for Years 3 to 13, in order to augment and support the teaching that students receive in school.
Our business is based on three foundational values: Personal, Passionate, Professional.
Being a tutor at Trefoil Tutors goes far beyond providing a platform for outstanding teaching and learning. Our tutors are seen as mentors to students as much as they are teachers. Getting to know students and their families during their time with us is a cornerstone of what we hold to be important and is paramount in ensuring we can communicate effectively with our clients.
At Trefoil Tutors, we are equally committed to sharing our subject knowledge as well as our love of the subjects we teach with our students. Making lessons dynamic, interesting and engaging helps us develop an enjoyment of the subject and promote life-long learning in our students. We are unashamedly geeky!
All too often, tutoring is seen as an additional job. Our team see tutoring differently - we approach it as a vocation in itself. We aim to professionalise all we do, both with regards to our tutoring and our administrative procedures. We use the exceptionally high standards of top Independent and Grammar Schools as the benchmark we hold ourselves to.

As our term ends and we head into the Christmas Holidays, now is the time of year for family board games. We at Trefoil Tutors thought we would put together a list of board games that are both great fun and educational, along with a selection of our tutors’ favourite games for our tutees to try. For those with their 11 + exams on the horizon, this time of year can often be stressful for students and finding a way to practise the techniques in an interactive, non-test based format can really help students develop their reasoning skills. Whether it is problem solving, numeracy, spatial, verbal or non-verbal these are the games for you as the winter nights draw in!
Vivek - RICHARD OSMAN’S HOUSE OF GAMES
Although this has been adapted from the television show, the board game is a very enjoyable version of the game. A serendipitous mixture of lateral thinking and logical reasoning coupled with a good spoonful of silliness, this game provides fun for all the family.

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.

We would like to wish all our students a very merry Christmas holiday! With those dark nights stretching out and cosy winter days filled with festive potential, we thought we would share some of our favourite ways to spend the holidays, and new places that we are all looking forward to exploring!
There’s nothing quite like the scents and sounds of a Winter Market, and the Southbank Centre is a wonderful place to kindle those festive feelings. With dazzling decorations, and all sorts of interesting little stalls, it’s the perfect way to spend a December afternoon.

2. Explore Nature after Dark
The London Wetland Centre has created a new, illuminated trail designed to bring us closer to nature during these cold months. Follow the glittering sculptures as art and the natural world coincide to bring us something truly beautiful.
