In order to best support our students who are on the cusp of crucial examinations, we offer summer lessons for specific year groups. This three-week extension of our teaching course is designed to help students avoid academic regression that often sets in during longer holidays, and to continue working through the course in preparation for the upcoming academic year.
This Summer, students currently in Years 4, 5, 11 and 12 will attend a set of six summer lessons from Monday, 15th August to Sunday, 4th September. The Summer lessons are a continuation of the course that our students currently attend, and not a stand-alone programme. Please note that students not attending Summer lessons may not be able to continue lessons in September.
Our Year 4 students will continue working through the 11+ course in English and Mathematics.
Our Year 5 students will continue their 11+ preparations in English, Mathematics and Reasoning as they prepare to sit entrance examinations to Grammar and Independent Schools.
Our Year 11 students looking to study Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A level will get a head-start to studying the demanding A level syllabus. During the summer, students will be taught topics which will allow a smooth transition into the more challenging aspects of the A level course and ensure that the A level curriculum can be finished with sufficient time remaining for revision and paper practice.
Our Year 12 students will continue their A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics studies in August in order to ensure that we finish the syllabus six weeks earlier, allowing for additional revision and paper practice at the end of the Year 13 course.
