The John Locke Institute is holding their annual essay competition and registration opens today, 1st April.
Open to students aged between 14 and 18, the competition encourages young people to cultivate the characteristics that turn good students into great writers: independent thought, depth of knowledge, clear reasoning, critical analysis and persuasive style. The competition invites students to explore a wide range of challenging and interesting questions in seven subjects: Philosophy, Politics, Economics, History, Psychology, Theology and Law. There is also a Junior Prize, available for students aged 14 and under.
All of the essay prizes are judged by a panel of senior academics drawn from leading universities, including Oxford and Princeton. The registration deadline is 31st May, and the submission deadline is 30th June.
