Trefoil Tutors is an award-winning tuition provider offering specialist small group tuition for Years 3 to 13, in order to augment and support the teaching that students receive in school. We are delighted to have been recognised in the National Tutoring Awards 2024 as the best Tuition Provider for Evaluating Impact as well as the Best Tuition and Educational Support Provider in the South East region by the UK Enterprise Awards in 2024.
Our group lessons are designed to offer students and parents the best of both worlds - the structure and collaboration that comes with classroom teaching and the individual attention offered by one-to-one tutoring.
Children are allocated to a small group where they will attend lessons in a particular subject with other students from the same year group with similar attainment levels and academic aspirations.
Our lessons follow carefully planned Schemes of Work which are prepared and reviewed each academic year by the lead tutor for the subject. This enables our tutors to guide students through a structured course, forming a strong foundation for future learning.
Each lesson is therefore focused on a specific topic and comes with a set of classwork exercises, weekly homework assignments, and tri-weekly assessments.
Educational materials are prepared in-house by subject-specialist tutors.
The work done in lessons is supported by a state-of-the-art website; after your first lesson at Trefoil, you will receive your login details for the parent and tutee portals. Here, you will find all lesson materials from taught lessons along with weekly personalised feedback from your child's tutor.

At the end of each term, you will also be invited to book in a parent report meeting with your child's tutor to discuss their academic progress throughout the term.
Each student's academic aspirations and progress are carefully monitored by our Director of Studies and Senior Tutor. This way, any potential concerns are flagged up very early on.
