Trefoil Tutors is an award-winning tuition provider offering specialist small group tuition for Years 3 to 13, in order to augment and support the teaching that students receive in school. We are recognised as the Best Tuition and Educational Support Provider in the South East region by the UK Enterprise Awards.
Our lessons take place in purpose-built classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology from our office in Elstree. We see tutoring as a vocation in itself, with our lessons taught by tutors who are employed with us full-time.
Our tutors are subject specialists, who are either qualified teachers or experienced tutors. Our teaching team undergo extensive pedagogical and safeguarding training, are DBS checked and fully insured.
Our courses, written in-house by our Lead Tutors, aim to augment and support, rather than replace, your child’s educational development at school. Our structured timetable and schemes of work provide continuity, consistency and reliability that underpin long-term success and enjoyment in the subject. We use weekly assignments and tri-weekly assessments to monitor progress and develop independent learners.
The work done in lessons is supported by a custom-built website with parent and tutee portals. Lesson materials are accessible via these portals along with weekly personalised feedback from the tutor about each tutee. This feedback is consolidated and expanded upon in termly progress report meetings in order to ensure that all three members of the tutoring triangle (the tutee, the parent and the tutor) are on the same page.
Our outstanding team of full time and part time tutors are supported by an efficient and welcoming full time administrative team who ensure that the tutors’ time is spent doing what they do best; planning, teaching and evaluating outstanding lessons.
Outstanding teaching and learning is at the heart of all we do. Trefoil is not run as a business but rather it is much more akin to an educational institution; putting the needs of our students, parents, tutors and administrative team at the forefront of our decision making.
