Our Ethos

At Trefoil Tutors, we do not see professional tutoring as simply supervising a child’s school work or providing them with extra worksheets, as many of our competitors do. Specialised group lessons at Trefoil Tutors offer a completely different approach, combining best practice from the country’s top independent schools and universities.

With a growing number of full-time tutors, our teaching team see tutoring as a vocation in itself, rather than an additional role. With over a decade of experience in delivering private tutoring, we truly believe that small-group lessons, taught and run in the right way, are the future of education.

Providing a perfect balance between teacher-lead interaction, peer group work, personalised feedback and enhanced contact time, our group lessons provide an ideal mix of activities. Regularity of lessons and specially developed Schemes of Work provide continuity and momentum for learning.


Being a tutor at Trefoil Tutors goes far beyond providing a platform for outstanding teaching and learning. Our tutors are seen as mentors to students as much as they are teachers.
