Following enquiries from a number of parents, we are delighted to confirm we will be running Mathematics and English mock examinations for pupils who are preparing to sit 11+ entrance examinations to grammar schools in September 2018. The mock examinations are modelled on 11+ entrance examination papers to grammar schools in the area.
The Mathematics mock examination papers are written by Vivek Gathani, our lead Mathematics tutor who helped write and mark the 11+ entrance examinations when teaching at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School.
The English mock examination papers are written by Milda Sabunaite, our lead English tutor who has been preparing pupils for 11+ entrance examinations to grammar and independent schools since 2013.
The mocks will take place at our premises in Elstree (5 Theobald Court, Theobald Street, WD6 4RN).
Students have the opportunity to sit two different mock examinations for both Mathematics and English.
Mock Exam 1 will take place on Sunday the 26th of August at 11am-1pm (Mathematics) and 1:30pm-3:30pm (English).
Mock Exam 2 will take place on Sunday the 2nd of September at 11am-1pm (Mathematics) and 1:30pm-3:30pm (English).
Each 2-hour-long exam session will contain:
– an introduction to the paper structure by the tutor;
– a brief Q&A session for the students about the 11+ process;
– sitting the 60-minute-long examination;
– a 15 minute break while the tutor marks the papers;
– a review of the paper highlighting common mistakes.
Each mock exam will be attended by no more than 6 pupils at a time. The papers will be marked and returned to the students the same day. The students' parents will also receive statistical analysis of the cohort's results as a whole.
The cost of attending a mock exam is £75 (incl. VAT) for one examination in either Mathematics or English and £150 (incl. VAT) for attending both Mathematics and English mock examinations.
