To fully prepare our prospective 11+ candidates for their examinations, at Trefoil Tutors, we have created a comprehensive course that covers Mathematics, English and Reasoning (both verbal and non-verbal).

As our Sixth Form students have now received most of their offers, they face the tough decision of choosing their destinations for the next 3-4 years. This seems like an apt time to remind parents and students that our tutors are more than happy to share their advice and experience on choosing the right university or study programme.

Today, we celebrate World Maths Day! World Maths Day is celebrated every year to make maths exciting and engaging for all school-aged children from all over the world – regardless of cultural or socio-economic background or ability. World Maths Day disregards the notion that you are either a ‘maths person’ or not.

We would like to remind students and parents that this is the final week of group lessons before we begin our Easter break. After the break, all group lessons will resume on Monday, the 13th of April.

At Trefoil Tutors, we value the importance of maintaining an ongoing conversation between parents, tutors and students as a key factor in maintaining tutee progress and development. As the Spring Term comes to an end, we would therefore like to invite parents to book a meeting to speak to your child’s tutor and discuss their progress throughout the academic year so far. These meetings will build on the personalised feedback the tutors upload to the online portal every week.

One of the largest interdisciplinary festivals in the UK, the annual Cambridge Festival, runs from Friday, 16th March until Sunday, 2nd April. The festival features a mixture of over 400 online, on-demand and in-person events - most of which are free.

We would like to remind parents that the deadline for priority registration for the Summer Term is this Sunday, the 22nd of March.

Every year on March 14th, Pi Day is celebrated around the world. Pi Day is observed on the 14th of March (3.14 in some dating formats). This is because 3.14 are the first three significant figures of Pi (π).

At Trefoil Tutors, we work with a small, hand-picked team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors. Each one of us is a subject specialist, bringing not only a mastery of their subject but also a passion for teaching. We see tutoring as a vocation in itself, and are delighted that the vast majority of our lessons are taught by tutors who work at Trefoil on a full-time basis. To ensure the highest standard of teaching and offer our students a safe learning environment, our teaching team undergo extensive pedagogical and safeguarding training, are DBS checked and fully insured.

With many schools hosting Parents' Evenings in the upcoming weeks, our Senior Tutor Vivek Gathani comments on his time as a school teacher and shares useful advice on how to approach and make the most of the conversations with your child's teachers.

As we enter Week 9 of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that this is the third assessment week of the Term. Students will be sitting a 20-minute assessment in their lessons this week. Some classes will not be given an assessment this week, for example, Reasoning students and some A Level classes. For these classes, a longer assessment will be given in Week 12.
