Happy birthday, William Shakespeare!

Although we don't really know when the great English playwright was born (and, indeed, there is plenty of debate over his identity to begin with!), the 23rd of April is traditionally observed as Shakespeare's birthday.

Today we celebrate Earth Day. Earth Day is an annual event where participants demonstrate support for environmental protection.

As we enter the final week of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that those attending Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English, Reasoning, Science and Chemistry lessons will be sitting a 30-minute assessment in their lessons this week. Do remember to review your classwork notes and homework assignments in preparation!

With exam season on the horizon, Year 11 and Year 13 students are in the final stages of preparing for their GCSE and A Level examinations. This can be an incredibly stressful time for not only students but also their parents and it can often be challenging to strike the right balance between revision and respite in the coming weeks.

Today we celebrate International Children’s Book Day!

Every year on 1st April, April Fool’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. On this day, people traditionally play practical jokes on each other and have fun trying to make other people believe things that are not true.

In order to help students practise little and often during their holidays and keep academic regression at bay, our Mathematics, Further Mathematics, English and Science tutors Vivek, Chris, Kishan and Rebecca have prepared a set of holiday work assignments.

After a successful term, our Easter Break begins today, with no group lessons taking place between Monday, 30th March and Sunday, 12 April.

The clocks will go forward in the early hours of tomorrow morning from 1am to 2am. This change in time is called daylight savings and it occurs twice a year; the clocks go forward in March, and backwards in October. This means that we are now entering British Summer Time (BST) and there will be more light in the evenings.

Don’t forget to change your clocks!

To fully prepare our prospective 11+ candidates for their examinations, at Trefoil Tutors, we have created a comprehensive course that covers Mathematics, English and Reasoning (both verbal and non-verbal).

As our Sixth Form students have now received most of their offers, they face the tough decision of choosing their destinations for the next 3-4 years. This seems like an apt time to remind parents and students that our tutors are more than happy to share their advice and experience on choosing the right university or study programme.
