Connor, Sept. 6, 2024
With the new school year around the corner, the start of September brings a big change to thousands of students who will be making the transition from a primary to a secondary school. After months of hard work preparing for their 11+ examinations, our Year 7 students step into the next stage of their academic career as secondary school pupils.
As part of the Educational Q&A Series, our Senior Tutor, Vivek Gathani, published a video sharing his advice about making the most of the experience and supporting your son or daughter through this exciting - albeit sometimes daunting - moment of their school life.
Having worked at Haberdashers' Boys' School for four years as a teacher, Year 7 form tutor and deputy housemaster, Vivek is closely familiar with the day-to-day opportunities and challenges the students face in a new school.

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.
“The small group setting has really benefited Raya. She loves sharing her ideas and I think it gives her a little sense of competition, which is good. I think that the length of the lessons, at one and a half hours, is fine. We really like how flexible the lessons are, if she can’t attend in person she has the option to join via Skype. We like that the Maths lessons also come with a pre-recorded video, so that she can revisit the topic if needed. She really enjoyed the interactive ambience in the classroom, the tutors make learning fun. She really, really enjoys attending lessons at Trefoil.”

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.
“Vivek has been a brilliant Maths tutor for both of our children. I think that he’s got a very good style of teaching. The way Vivek explains new concepts to the children is very easy to understand. We have been fortunate enough to see some of his lesson videos via the portal and the way that he explains things makes it feasible for us to understand as well. I think that he’s got a very good connection with the children, they find him funny and entertaining as well, which helps their enjoyment.”

All other students will be returning on Monday, the 9th of September.

We are delighted to share the news that Trefoil Tutors was announced the winner at the National Tutoring Awards 2024 in the category of Tuition Provider for Evaluating Impact!
Awarded by the Tutors’ Association, this prestigious national award celebrates excellence in the tutoring industry and we are very proud to be recognised as one of the country’s leading providers of tutoring services.
At Trefoil Tutors, professionalism and provision of teaching and learning of the highest quality are at the very core of the service we offer our students and their parents. We work to augment and support, rather than replace, a child’s educational development at school. With over a decade of experience in delivering private tutoring, we truly believe that small-group lessons, taught and run in the right way, are the future of education.
As we celebrate the award, we would like to express our most sincere thanks to all our students and their parents for their ongoing support and commitment throughout the years, as well as our team who continue to work relentlessly in order to provide tutoring of the highest standard to each and every one of our clients.

At Trefoil Tutors, we are incredibly proud of the quality of teaching and learning we deliver across a range of different subjects. In our small group lessons, our team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors aim to augment and support the work done by schools. Students are taught according to a structured scheme of work and are given weekly homework assignments and regular assessments which are all prepared in-house by our tutors, with weekly individual feedback provided to parents via our personalised online portal.
A far cry away from traditional one-to-one tuition, our lessons take place in purpose-built classrooms in our Elstree office where tutors are supported by a full-time administrative team to ensure they can spend their time teaching. All our tutors are qualified teachers or experienced tutors who are subject specialists and have been DBS checked, fully insured and have attended safeguarding courses run at Trefoil Tutors. These are the standards expected at top schools in the country and we firmly believe tutors should hold themselves to the same standards.
If you would like to join our lessons in the new academic year, or if you would like to learn more about our services, please do get in touch - we look forward to hearing from you!

The books on the list range from timeless classics to recent releases.
