In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek reminds students that it is assessment week and that students should review their corrections and notes in anticipation for the first assessment of the Summer Term. Vivek further reminds students to use the overview sheets provided this week to keep their files organised and to continue to take ownership over their learning. Vivek then introduces three new members of staff: Chris Sears, our new Mathematics and Further Mathematics tutor, Michael Cooley, our new A Level Economics tutor and Maya Nair, our temporary office support.
Vivek then hands over to Rebecca, our Director of Studies, who discusses how students can use past papers to help support and augment their revision and identifies common pitfalls when trying to access exam questions. Rebecca advises students to make paper practice an integral part of their revision routine and ensure they are familiar with the exam board's expectations, are able to identify and respond to command words in questions as well as pay attention to the number of marks allocated to the questions.
