Vivek welcomes our new and returning students to the start of the second term of the academic year, and invites us all to get back into good routines with regards to our teaching and learning. The Spring Term is a vital twelve weeks where we will cover a lot of content and it is paramount that students quickly fall back into the rhythm of our lessons.
Wishing you all the very best for the start of the new term!
Milda, Dec. 23, 2021
In order to help students practise little and often during their holidays and keep academic regression at bay, our lead Mathematics, English and Science tutors Vivek, Milda and Rebecca have prepared a set of holiday work assignments. Based on the material covered throughout the Autumn Term, the assignments are a great way to help students review the topics from the term just gone as well as make a running start for the term to come.
All holiday work assignments and answers for all year groups (Year 4 to Year 13) are freely available via our website:

“My son has known Mr G since the age of 11, as he was his former maths teacher. He is now a year ahead of his age at school, and we used Mr G's lessons to help him bridge that gap – but he enjoyed the lessons so much that he's continued working with him.

We would like to remind parents of our current students that priority registration for the Spring Term is now open and that our current students' places in the lessons are reserved until Sunday, the 28th of November.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek summarises a busy week at Trefoil Tutors with preparations in full swing for the end of term. Although we have been very impressed with the number of students attending lessons face-to-face, Vivek uses this week's video to remind students of the good practices we established exactly a year ago when we entered the latest lockdown. Vivek also reminds us that there are only four weeks until Christmas and the big push that is required by all to make the most of our lessons together; especially true for our Year 6, Year 11 and Year 13 students with important examinations on the horizon this winter. Vivek then hands over to our Director of Studies, Rebecca, who discusses the difference between long term and short term memory; sage advice as students prepare for Assessment Week.

“The best thing about the lessons is that they didn’t get thrown into the deep end – they were told exactly what they were going to do, and everything was well prepared. In some of the questions, their names were used, which was very personal to the children and they enjoyed it.
