Trefoil Tutors are currently looking for a Weekday Evening Receptionist to join our team from March 2021.

The ideal candidate will be an approachable and organised individual with attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Experience in an administrative and customer-facing role is essential.

The role is key to supporting pupils, parents and staff at the company and involves ensuring students’ arrivals and departures to and from lessons run smoothly. In addition to overseeing logistics, the role will involve taking telephone messages, contacting parents and a variety of administrative tasks.

Today, primary school students around the country receive their secondary school offers issued by grammar and state schools. We would like to wish our 11+ students who sat grammar school entrance examinations in September the best of luck! With the tumultuous months of 11+ entrance examinations now behind us, we are thrilled to celebrate and share with you an overview of independent school offers that our students received this year. We are incredibly proud of this year's cohort of students - not only for having persevered with their preparations throughout a year of constant changes but also for having received a truly outstanding set of offers from independent schools.

As we prepare for the first week of lessons after the half term break, our Senior Tutor Vivek welcomes the cohort of new students who will join our lessons next half term, encouraging them to develop good learning routines from their very first lessons. Furthermore, Vivek celebrates the outstanding set of 11+ results that our Independent School candidates have received last week. Finally, Vivek reminds our students that the new set of holiday work has been published on our website and is freely available to all those who would like to keep practising their Mathematics and English during the break.

As we complete the first half of the Spring term, we are delighted to see students continuing to follow good routines in their learning. In order to help students practise little and often during their holidays in order to keep academic regression at bay, our lead Mathematics and English tutors have prepared a set of holiday work which is now available on our website.

A few days ago, I replied to a post from a parent whose child received offers from multiple secondary schools asking for advice about how to decide between them. Since then, I have had no fewer than five wonderful phone calls with parents in similar, enviable, positions.

Therefore, I thought it would be beneficial to record a short video extending my advice to the broader 11+ community in the hope that it will help parents who are facing similar decisions.

Good luck in making your choice and I hope you and your child have a successful transition into Year 7 at your chosen secondary school!

As we begin the final week of lessons before the half term break, we would like to remind students that they will be sitting a 30-minute assessment in their lessons this week. Do remember to review your classwork notes and homework assignments in preparation!
