We would like to remind students and parents that this is the final week of group lessons before we begin our Christmas holidays. The Autumn Term ends on Sunday, the 13th of December. After the break, all group lessons will resume on the 4th of January. We look forward to seeing everyone for their final lessons this year!

At Trefoil Tutors, we recognise the importance of maintaining an ongoing conversation between parents, tutors and students as a key factor in maintaining tutee progress and development. As a very successful Autumn Term comes to an end, we would like to invite parents to book in a meeting to speak to your child’s tutor and discuss their progress throughout the academic year so far. These meetings will build on the personalised feedback the tutors upload to the online portal every week.

To book your meeting, please log in to the online portal and choose a convenient date and time.

We would like to remind parents of our current students that priority registration for the Spring Term is now open and that our current students' places in the lessons are reserved until Sunday, the 6th of December. Please do make sure to book your child's place before this date to ensure continuity of lessons. Any places that are not booked by this date will be offered to students on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.

In this week’s Senior Tutor update, Vivek highlights the importance of students completing corrections during our online lessons. He goes on to emphasise the value of managing students’ confidence, motivation and energy levels during a long half term. Additionally, our Registrar Milda reminds parents that priority registration for Spring Term is now open, with places for our current students reserved until Friday, the 4th of December. Milda emphasises that places will no longer be reserved after this deadline and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Economics group lessons are run by our Economics tutor Christoph, a professional Economics teacher with over three years of experience teaching at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School. Christoph holds a BSc(Econ) in Economics and an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics (LSE). Moreover, Christoph is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

We would like to remind parents of our current students that priority registration for the Spring Term has begun! As always, in order to help ensure continuity of teaching and learning, we would like to give priority to students already attending the lessons to book their place in the upcoming term before we offer any available places to pupils on our waiting list.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update, Vivek reflects on our return to online lessons for the second lockdown. After expressing his gratitude towards the parents of our students, our tutors and our administrative team for putting in all the extra time to ensure a smooth running of lessons online, Vivek turns to our students. To help them make the most of learning in a virtual environment, Vivek shares four useful observations about online learning and offers useful advice on engaging with the material and maintaining the continuity of learning despite the changes to the learning environment. As next week is Assessment Week, our Director of Studies Rebecca speaks to students about effective revision methods in order to help them prepare for the upcoming week.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement to impose a second lockdown, we have been closely following updates to the guidelines outlined by the Government. Regrettably, we have been forced to temporarily take our lessons online from Thursday 5th November 2020. Please note that we will return to face-to-face lessons as soon as we are allowed to by the Government. We will continue to monitor and reassess the situation daily.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update, Vivek reminds students that our lessons resume next week, on Monday, the 2nd of November. In order to ensure a strong start to the new half term, Vivek shares six important pieces of advice that students should consider before returning to lessons.

After an extraordinary end to the last academic year, we are very proud to share with you a snapshot overview of the results achieved by our A level students. Having shown impressive levels of resilience and ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances, our students acquired an impressive set of grades. Very well done!
