Tutors attend Professional Development Seminar on Child Protection

On the 8th of December, we hosted our second Professional Development Seminar as part of our Professional Development Programme for tutors. In the seminar, our senior tutor, Vivek Gathani, discussed our Code of Conduct with the tutors and analysed potential situations that may arise when working with children.

At Trefoil Tutors, tutor development and child protection are two cornerstones of the professionalism that we bring to tutoring and we were delighted that so many of our team were able to join us!

Final Week of Lessons

MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH 11+ MOCK EXAMINATIONS

We are currently registering students for the final places in our English and Mathematics mock examinations which will take place during the Christmas holidays at our premises in Elstree (5 Theobald Court, Theobald Street, WD6 4RN). Places are limited and booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

We would like to remind you that the 11+ mock examinations are open to all Year 6 students sitting independent exams, so students who have not previously attended our lessons are welcome to attend.

Priority registration for Set 3 now open

We would like to remind parents of our current students that priority registration for Set 3 of lessons is now open and that your place in the lessons is reserved until the 16th of December - please do make sure to book your child's place before this date! Any places that are not booked after this date will be offered to students on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.

Early school starts may be detrimental to students' mental health

New research has shown that early school starts affect students' health as well as concentration levels. When entering early adulthood, students' ideal wake and sleep times gradually become later. Early school starts often means that students lose between 2-2.7 hours of sleep a day, which affects brain development and has been linked to the activation of genes associated with mental illness.

11+ MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH MOCK EXAMINATIONS

We were delighted to see so many of our Year 6 students attending the 11+ mock examinations we held during the half-term holidays. We would like to remind parents of the final places available in the upcoming mock exams that will take place in December and January.

The mock examinations are modelled on 11+ entrance examination papers to independent schools in the area and are written by our lead tutors Vivek Gathani and Milda Sabunaite.

UK University Fair taking place this weekend

This Saturday, a UK university fair is being held at the Royal Lancaster London. Giving UK and international students a chance to learn more about around 100 universities across the country, the fair will also offer seminars on writing personal statements and the process of applying to universities.

1st Professional Development Seminar
