PARENT TESTIMONIAL - DHRUV AND BALKRISHAN’S DAD

Lucy, Feb. 28, 2023

We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.

“In terms of the structure of the lessons and the group set-up, the boys have really enjoyed it. It’s in-keeping with what they would be accustomed to in a school environment which is quite nice. Rather than it being a formal one-to-one setting, a group environment keeps it consistent to what they’re used to. The subject matter can be challenging both from the aspect of the tutor, as well as the other students in the classroom, so everyone is there to improve from different angles and I think a varied environment from what they experience in school has, for my boys, certainly been very beneficial.”

ASH WEDNESDAY AND THE BEGINNING OF LENT

Lucy, Feb. 23, 2023

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - a period of six weeks leading up to Easter.

Lent is a special time of reflection and faith, practised in prayer and by the act of giving up something. That “something” depends on the person observing Lent, with the main guidelines being that it has to be something that’s challenging to give up during this period. Millions of people give up something during Lent as a sign of sacrifice and to test their self-discipline.

By means of a little introduction, my name is Vivek Gathani. I am Director and Senior Tutor at Trefoil Tutors.

Trefoil Tutors was set up in 2011, with the aim of bringing a new level of professionalism to tutoring in North London. Over a decade on, we find ourselves here, in our office in Elstree where we teach over 300 students a week in our small, specialised group lessons. Currently, we have four full time tutors, one part time tutor and three subcontracted tutors whose work is fantastically supported by a full office team consisting of a Director of Accounts, a Director of Studies, a Director of Operations, a Bursar, a Registrar and a team of secretaries. ADVICE ON CHOOSING A SECONDARY SCHOOL

Lucy, Feb. 14, 2023

With a number of Independent Schools sending out offer emails last week, it is not surprising that our social media threads are awash with parents asking for advice on how to choose the right secondary school for their child.

SENIOR TUTOR UPDATE - HALF TERM BREAK WEEK ONE

Lucy, Feb. 14, 2023

In this week's Senior Tutor Update, Vivek wishes all our students, parents and staff a restful Half Term break as we mark the half-way point in the academic year. Vivek reminds everyone that the office will be closed between Monday, 13th February and Sunday, 19th February inclusively. Rebecca's rearranged Science lessons will take place on Sunday, 19th February.

Vivek encourages our students to use the Half Term break to rest up and re-charge their batteries. This is especially true for our Year 11 and Year 13 students. Vivek reminds students to complete the holiday work; not only for the subject they attend at Trefoil but all the holiday work produced for their year group. Vivek reiterates the need for students to keep their folders organised, with up-to-date overview sheets. This will help kick-start students' revision which will likely begin during the Easter holidays.
