We are delighted to announce that for the first time, this academic year, our students in Years 7-10 will have an Exam Week in English, Mathematics and Science.

Our Senior Tutor, Vivek Gathani, shares his advice with parents who are looking to find the right support for their children with the help of a tutor.

We would like to thank the parents who attended our Advice Evening on Saturday, the 18th June. It was a pleasure to see so many parents of our Years 3, 4 and 5 students!

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek thanks parents, students and the Trefoil Team for all their support, kindness and understanding whilst Amelia is in hospital. Vivek reminds parents that we have three roles currently being advertised to join our team. Vivek celebrates the final event of the 2021-2022 academic year which took place on Sunday the 3rd of July where we welcomed 24 parents and students to our UCAS Advice Evening and Personal Statement Workshop. Vivek also informs parents that bookings for the final parent report meetings of the year will open this week.

Our Director of Studies Rebecca introduces Exam Week for our Year 7-10 students and discusses how students should close off the academic year; organising their folders and streamlining the resources that they should keep for next academic year. Finally Rebecca introduces the Summer Projects that will be available at the end of term for students to enjoy over the summer holidays.

We would like to remind all parents that the deadline for booking your place for lessons in the new academic year is 1st July 2022. To secure the place that has been reserved for you, please make sure that your payment reaches us before this date as we will not be able to hold places reserved beyond this deadline.

We would like to say a big congratulations to all our students who have sat and finished their GCSE and A Level examinations. Very well done! After months of hard work, we hope you have a restful and enjoyable summer break. We look forward to hearing from you on Results Day!

We are currently looking for an experienced Biology tutor to teach one or more small groups of up to six students. The tutor will specialise in teaching Key Stage 5 (Year 12 and Year 13).

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in planning, teaching and evaluating outstanding Biology lessons and have demonstrated a passion for their subject. FQT status and school teaching experience are preferred but not essential.

The successful candidate must be able to start running the Biology group lessons in September 2022 and commit to the position for the full academic year. The successful candidate should also be prepared to conduct online lessons via Skype if necessary.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek emphasises the importance of the final four weeks of the academic year which will include assessments in Weeks 9 and 11. Vivek reminds parents of current students that the deadline for registering for lessons in the new academic year is Friday, 1st July. Vivek thanks our Weekday Receptionist Lucy for all her hard work over the last two weeks in organising two events. The second one of these took place yesterday - we were delighted to welcome 13 sets of parents to our 11+ Parents' Advice Evening, an event we aim to run three times a year. Finally, Vivek reminds all students to bring their water bottles to lessons in the coming weeks as summer temperatures soar.

Our Director of Studies Rebecca shares her recommendations of fun revision activities and techniques to break up the monotony of exam preparation - including blurting, recording voice memos, inventing mnemonics and defining the zone of relevance.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek reflects on one of the busiest weeks of the academic year (so far!). With the event titled "Making the most of Secondary School" coupled with our Year 6 reunion taking place on Saturday, 11th June and the next event titled "11+ advice evening" taking place on Saturday 18th June, it has been a busy but incredibly rewarding few days in terms of advice evenings!

Our Registrar Milda thanks parents who have already taken steps to book their places for the new academic year and reminds everyone that we have just over two weeks to complete registration of current students for September. Please do keep the deadline of July 1st in mind for booking your summer lessons, too!

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek welcomes students, parents, tutors and the office team back after the Half Term break. Vivek encourages us to approach the final six weeks of the academic year with the same energy, enthusiasm and determination as the first six weeks. Vivek reminds us to keep on practising our established routines regarding filing, pens, assignments, revision and corrections and further encourages students to take ownership of their learning and build their intrinsic motivation. Vivek highlights the new A Level Further Mathematics lessons and A Level Economics lessons that will commence this week as well as celebrating the return of face-to-face events which, too, will commence this week. Vivek reminds Year 5 and Year 12 students that they will be receiving new folders this week and encourages students to attend lessons face-to-face where possible.

In this week's Senior Tutor Update video, Vivek reminds everyone that this week is our Half Term Break. The office will be closed between Monday, 30th May and Sunday, 5th June, with lessons recommencing on Monday, 6th June.

With the 11+ entrance examinations fast approaching, we are delighted to confirm the dates of our Mathematics and English mock examinations that will take place in the coming months. The mock examinations are modelled on 11+ entrance examination papers to Grammar and Independent Schools in the area.
