At Trefoil Tutors, we value the importance of maintaining an ongoing conversation between parents, tutors and students as a key factor in maintaining tutee progress and development. As the Summer Term comes to an end, we would therefore like to invite parents to book a meeting to speak to your child’s tutor and discuss their progress throughout the academic year. These meetings will build on the personalised feedback the tutors upload to the online portal every week.
To book your meeting, please log in to the Parent Portal, click on Report Meetings and choose a convenient date and time to speak to your child's tutor.

At Trefoil Tutors, we are incredibly proud of the quality of teaching and learning we deliver across a range of different subjects. In our small group lessons, our team of qualified teachers and experienced tutors aim to augment and support the work done by schools. Students are taught according to a structured scheme of work and are given weekly homework assignments and regular assessments which are all prepared in-house by our tutors, with weekly individual feedback provided to parents via our personalised online portal.
A far cry away from traditional one-to-one tuition, our lessons take place in purpose-built classrooms in our Elstree office where tutors are supported by a full-time administrative team to ensure they can spend their time teaching. All our tutors are qualified teachers or experienced tutors who are subject specialists and have been DBS checked, fully insured and have attended safeguarding courses run at Trefoil Tutors. These are the standards expected at top schools in the country and we firmly believe tutors should hold themselves to the same standards.
If you would like to join our lessons in the new academic year, or if you would like to learn more about our services, please do get in touch - we look forward to hearing from you!

"The fact that Vivek is a former HABS teacher was definitely one of the factors making me decide that I would send my son to Vivek, because he knew what he was talking about. I knew he had done the HABS syllabus, so certainly Vivek would point him in the right direction."

The winners for the 2024 Yoto Carnegies awards have been announced for 2024! The Yoto Carnegie Medals are the UK’s oldest and best-loved children’s book awards, recognising outstanding reading experiences created through writing and illustration in books for children and young people.
This year, the Medal for Writing has been awarded to The Boy Lost in the Maze by Joseph Coelho.
The story portrays a boy’s journey into manhood and “cleverly integrates” the ancient legacy of the Minotaur with the contemporary journey of a teenager searching for his biological father.
The Medal for Illustration and The 2024 Shadowers’ Choice Medal for Illustration have been awarded to The Tree and the River by Aaron Becker.
Looking at the evolution of human impact on the natural environment through the fate of a lone tree and an enduring river, the timely story gives “a sense of hope”, with Becker’s use of colour to depict the seasons “transformative” and use of light “exceptional”.
The Shadowers’ Choice Medal for Writing has been awarded to Crossing the Line by Tia Fisher.
Based on a true story about teenagers swept up into county lines, this ‘innovative and engaging’ story shows the power of poetry to convey difficult truths in a way that engages and excites young minds.
Those looking are looking for any extra reading should take a look at this year's shortlist for the Yoto Carnegie awards: https://yotocarnegies.co.uk/writing-shortlist-2024/ as well as winners from previous years: https://yotocarnegies.co.uk/archive/writing-winners/.
Happy reading!
