We are delighted to share with you the positive feedback contributed by the parents of students who have attended our group lessons and found these enjoyable and beneficial to their learning.
“The online portal is very useful. It is useful having access to download all of the class materials, as well as the summer resources. I go there a lot if the children have lost something or just to print off an extra copy of the work.
The progress reports are excellent, you also get a notification when the feedback comments are available, then you follow the link and it’s all there. If you want to go back and compare to see how they did four or five weeks ago, the historic feedback is all there too. With the progress, you can track how they’ve done in their assessments and you can see it in the graphs, with both the average marks and the comments in one place. Everything is recorded and it’s great to be able to track how your child is performing.”

Our fingers are firmly crossed for you!

Mental Health Awareness week commences today, with the theme “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”.
Research has shown that regular physical activity can make us happier and healthier. Our bodies release feel-good hormones when we're active, which can reduce anxiety and stress and help us sleep better. By building movement into our working day, we can have a positive impact on productivity and focus.
The Mental Health Foundation offers some useful advice and provides downloadable resources about mental health as well as advice on becoming a Mental Health First Aider:

With exam season on the horizon, Year 11 and Year 13 students are in the final stages of preparing for their GCSE and A Level examinations. This can be an incredibly stressful time for not only students but also their parents and it can often be challenging to strike the right balance between revision and respite in the coming weeks. To help support revision in our respective subjects, the Lead Tutors at Trefoil Tutors have recorded subject-specific advice for all of our students outlining how to best prepare for their upcoming examinations. This should act as a guide and help both reinforce and build upon the strategies already being used to ensure academic success. We hope students will find this a useful resource in structuring their revision time and tailoring their revision approach in order to prepare for the upcoming examinations.
Wishing all our students well during this revision period!

The Junior Mathematics Challenge begins today, with Year 7 and Year 8 students competing for gold, silver and bronze certificates across the country.
This challenge, created by The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust is intended to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.

Happy birthday, William Shakespeare!
Although we don't really know when the great English playwright was born (and, indeed, there is plenty of debate over his identity to begin with!), the 23rd of April is traditionally observed as Shakespeare's birthday.
