Today we celebrate International Children’s Book Day!
Hareish, April 1, 2025
Every year on 1st April, April Fool’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. On this day, people traditionally play practical jokes on each other and have fun trying to make other people believe things that are not true.
In the UK, jokes and tricks can be played up until 12pm on 1st April. After midday, it's considered bad luck to play a trick.
From all of us at Trefoil, we hope you enjoy April Fool’s Day and be prepared for any surprises!

We would like to remind students and parents that this is the final week of group lessons before we begin our Easter break. The Spring Term ends on Sunday, the 6th of April. After the break, all group lessons will resume on Monday, the 21st of April.
We look forward to seeing everyone for their final lessons this Term!

As we enter the final week of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that they will be sitting a 30-minute assessment in their lessons this week. These arrangements will differ slightly for students attending Reasoning lessons as well as students in exam years.
Remember to follow Vivek and Rebecca’s advice in the Welcome Booklet on how best to revise for these assessments.
Best of luck!

The clocks will go forward in the early hours of tomorrow morning from 1am to 2am. This change in time is called daylight savings and it occurs twice a year; the clocks go forward in March, and backwards in October. This means that we are now entering British Summer Time (BST) and there will be more light in the evenings.
Don’t forget to change your clocks!

As our Sixth Form students have now received most of their offers, they face the tough decision of choosing their destinations for the next 3-4 years. This seems like an apt time to remind parents and students that our tutors are more than happy to share their advice and experience on choosing the right university or study programme.
University ratings are also very helpful when considering your options – do have a look at the updated The Times Higher Education World University Rankings:

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL PI DAY!
Every year on March 14th, Pi Day is celebrated around the world. Pi Day is observed on the 14th of March (3.14 in some dating formats). This is because 3.14 are the first three significant figures of Pi (π).
Pi Day was founded by a physicist named Larry Shaw in 1988 and mathematicians have observed the holiday ever since.
Happy Pi Day!
