As we enter Week 9 of the Spring Term, we would like to remind students that this is the third assessment week of the Term. Students will be sitting a 20-minute assessment in their lessons this week. Some classes will not be given an assessment this week, for example, Reasoning students and some A Level classes. For these classes, a longer assessment will be given in Week 12.

Today is International Women’s Day! The theme for 2026 is to 'Give To Gain.' We hope you enjoy celebrating and appreciating the important women in your life!

Today marks the beginning of British Science Week, which ends on March 15th. The theme for 2026 is ‘Curiosity: what’s your question?’

The John Locke Institute is holding their annual essay competition.

Magdalene College Cambridge Arts and Humanities essay competition for 2026 is currently open. It is open to Year 12 students attending state-maintained schools in the UK, the prizes aim to encourage ambitious and talented students in the Arts and Humanities subjects to explore their interests further, with the hope that they will be encouraged to read these or related subjects at University.

Trefoil Tutors is an award-winning tuition provider offering specialist small group tuition for Years 3 to 13, in order to augment and support the teaching that students receive in school.

The American Library Association has announced the 2026 winners of the Youth Media Awards, including the Newbery and Caldecott medals, and the Printz award. These are some of the oldest and most prestigious awards in children’s literature; the Newbery and Caldecott medals have been awarded for over 80 years.

We would like to remind parents of our current students that four members of the team at Trefoil Tutors, including our Senior Leadership Team and Lead Tutors, have completed Level 3 Award First Aid Training. These staff members are familiar with the role and responsibilities of a first aider, and as part of their training, have learnt how to manage unconscious casualties, how to respond to incidents involving choking or external bleeding and have practised Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

We hope all our students and their parents enjoyed a relaxing February Half Term Break! We would like to remind parents that today marks the beginning of the second half of the Spring Term and all lessons will run according to the usual timetable. We are excited to welcome all our students back to our classrooms this week!
