Today, our Manager Milda Sabunaite represented Trefoil Tutors at the National Tutors Conference hosted by the Tutors' Association. Attended by over 150 tutors from around the country, the event offered a variety of seminars and workshops that covered topics from structuring long-term tutoring to adapting lessons to high-achieving students, as well as looking at the future of the tutoring sector in the UK. We were delighted to be part of the event!

Today, our senior tutor Vivek Gathani and lead English tutor Milda Sabunaite were invited to represent Trefoil Tutors at the 5th annual LBD charity brunch. Vivek delivered a short presentation, offering parents his professional advice about finding high-quality tutoring for their children. All donations collected at the event went to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital based in Elstree. We would like to thank the LBD charity for welcoming us to the event!

We are happy to introduce you to Emilija Cekaviciute, our new Tutor Coordinator, who is taking the role over from Michaela and will be taking care of our team of tutors, as well as helping to find the right tutor for our new tutees. Emilija is currently in her third year of pursuing her BSc in Education Studies and will bring valuable insights into education management to our team.

We are delighted to announce that our management team at Trefoil Tutors has been joined by Jovana Djordjic, who will be taking over as our new Office Administrator. Currently studying Business Management at the University of Roehampton, Jovana will be taking care of our office on a day-to-day basis, and will act as the first point of contact for students attending lessons at our Elstree office. As Year 6 students dive into the final stage of preparing for the upcoming 11+ entrance examinations, we would like to share with you FREE 11+ English and Mathematics mock examination papers.
The Mathematics mock examination paper is written by Vivek Gathani, our lead Mathematics tutor who helped write and mark the 11+ entrance examinations when teaching at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School. You can access the paper on our website:

Milda highlights the importance of the student interacting with different styles and genres of English in their day-to-day life, and suggests ways of ensuring that the language learning is not limited to the classroom.

Following enquiries from a number of parents, we are delighted to inform you that during the October half-term and the Christmas holidays we will be running Mathematics and English mock examinations for pupils who are preparing to sit 11+ entrance examinations to independent schools this January.
The mock examinations are modelled on 11+ entrance examination papers to independent schools in the area.
Having run these 11+ mock examinations for the last two years, we have collected comparable scores for students and their subsequent secondary school destinations.
The mocks will take place at our premises in Elstree (5 Theobald Court, Theobald Street, WD6 4RN).
The students will have the opportunity to sit a different Mathematics mock examination paper and an English mock examination paper each day.

While compulsory texts studied at school may not be every student's cup of tea, this should not be a discouragement from reading in general. On Sunday, the 9th of September, we held our Tutor Induction Day and welcomed five new tutors to our team. We are delighted to have Shrina and Kyal joining us as Economics tutors, Neil and Meghna as Science tutors, and Nikhil tutoring Mathematics and Physics. After a careful selection process from over 50 applications, we are glad to recommend the five new tutors to students looking for one-to-one lessons in their specialist subjects. During the tutor induction, the new tutors received training on key pedagogical concepts later covered in our Professional Development Programme, and underwent a detailed review of our Code of Conduct.

After a summer of preparations, today, our team were thrilled to launch a new academic year at Trefoil Tutors. We start the term with an additional classroom at our premises, five new tutors joining our team, a bank of newly written worksheets and some very exciting surprises for students attending lessons this week.

The group lessons are run by Shaheel, an experienced private tutor who is currently undergoing his teacher training at the Institute of Education. Shaheel has completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Neuroscience at Queen Mary’s University and has over three years of experience working at Trefoil.
We are happy to offer a 10% discount off the group lesson costs to students already attending Mathematics or English group lessons, as well as to students whose siblings are registered to attend our group lessons.

With a BA(Hons) in Politics from the University of York, and a Masters degree from the University of Amsterdam, Milda tutors English Language and Literature to pupils from Year 4 to Year 11.

Following enquiries from a number of parents, we are delighted to announce that we will continue to apply the £200 full-year booking discount until the 9th of September. So far, 17% of parents have booked their child's place in the group lessons for the full academic year and have received the £200 discount.
The discount is applied when a student's place is booked for the full academic year (36 lessons). The discount can be combined with our 10% sibling or multiple subject discount.
